I read "Hollywood Babylon" as a teenager in the 70s, along with lots of other movie star biographies, both reputable and otherwise. At the time, though, I naïvely believed that such books were always based on fact. Much as I love Anger's films, the horrible rubbish he wrote about the deaths of these stars lingered for decades. Only a few weeks ago, I had to tell a friend that poor Lupe Velez's death - although terrible - did not take place in the way Anger described it.

Amazing that Agnes' mother outlived her daughter by sixteen years and died at 106 in the year Agnes would have turned 90. So she was very young - 16? - when Agnes was born.

When Caan was filming Gardens of Stone, he was staying at the hotel where I worked. He was always late to the set and would never answer the wake-up calls. Bellman always had to go up to his room to wake him up. Guess Caan got tired of Bellman coming into his room and waking him up. So Cann would use that lock where one can't enter the room. Coppola got tired of that and asked the hotel to remove that lock. Bellman still had to go up every morning and wake him up. Caan would also receive FedEx envelopes full of pills. That hotel was so full of movie stars, which was kind of fun at first, but we grew weary of their antics. Unfortunately, Coppola's son was killed in a boating accident during filming. That was a very sad day since most of us saw him that morning.

What a sad story for Karyn, to have a mother that never made it in acting, taking it out on her daughter. I do hope she is resting in peace and being nicer to herself as for the medical terminology, I have worked in health care for about 18 years, I still get stuck on some of the words!

they don't need to tear that house down they could do renovations on the inside instead. but someone said people out there want to make McMansions in that area. All of the beautiful homes that have been torn down there for very ugly homes they build now. then you wonder why the housing cost in the LA area area way out of line.

I am sorry for your friends getting killed, that is horrific! I know you will make sure they are never forgotten. I graduated in 1980 too and by the time I graduated, I lost friends in car accidents, so many of them died on the road. I also had a friend that killed himself while dating a close friend of mine. In 1982, my boyfriend, Kenny, the love of my life, was killed in a car accident after dropping me off at home. It was car accidents that took their lives, after 1983, 4 students died in a car accident in New Haven, CT and were not found for days. They are all buried across the path from my boyfriend so I visit all of them.

Sounds like they may not have eaten at the restaurant. Maybe they went and left after waiting for a bit and went to Sharon's house instead. Sharon was a rising star at the time of her death and may not have been recognized by others. Jay Sebring and his salons were probably more famous than Sharon at the time but he was mainly known by celebs since his haircuts were $50 per cut. Whether they ate their or not, the restaurant is clearly capitalizing on their deaths with the booth. I live in LA and every time I drive by that restaurant I can't help but think of Sharon Tate and those horrific murders. And don't get me started on what I think of when I drive by the Viper Room or the Chateau Marmont.

This world is full of satanic culture barbaric people..................... they have no feeling, they are demons. I hope the home will stay there. Save this house.

Jay Sebring's life should be a Hollywood movie. I know we had Warren Beatty in Shampoo but I don't think that was based on Jay Sebring. Sebring deserves a bio-pic.

The real 1959 Ford Fairlane was not used in the movie because the owner did not want mounts attached to it or anything else related to cameras and equipment because it would take away from the originality.

It's interesting; if you know history, you should prevent it from repeating itself, yet we see it always repeats. Perhaps it happens when people are ignorant of it. In America, we want to destroy history. It's so hard to find historical locations anymore that the wealthy come in with their money and take everything away. Why is it so important to them to destroy history? Maybe they need to think about the significance of it? It could be part of the plan. Erase the history so the repetition could benefit them. Marilyn's home is historical Hollywood. This part of history is being destroyed one by one, the Viper Room, Cielo Drive, Ambassador Hotel, and so many more. There seems to be no value in history; Europe preserves it so much better than we do. I used to live in LA now I am in Vegas, I see it here too; Tropicana is on the list to be demolished soon, for what a baseball field? You know that a baseball field in the middle of Las Vegas strip is going to fit right in with a football field with no parking. I don't fit in with this world, man.
